Abiword is an open source, cross platform word processor.

Review method: I tested the plugin with an older version of Abiword. I was not able to test a recent version.

Notes: It requires a separate plugin. The latest version is 2.4.4 but we could only test 2.4.1. In this version, this is what we found:

• Support is for import only. It can't write ODF files.
• Simple documents work alright. Formatting was a bit off, but alright.
• More complex documents are imported poorly. It didn't recognize that a document was landscape, and images have the wrong size.
• Tables seem to work well.
• Loading files is slow, but bearable.
• It crashed on a 700-page, 444KB document without complex formatting.

We would be grateful if someone could test version 2.4.4 and tell us what you found.
