eZ publish is a CMS. As such, it probably doesn't make sense for it to use the OpenDocument format as its native file format. And in truth, there is little, if any, practical benefit to that. Hence, it appears that eZ systems has done everything that could be asked of them.
We commend eZ systems for adding OpenDocument support to eZ publish.
