OpenOffice.org is a cross platform, open source office suite that includes word processing, spreadsheet, presentation, database, and drawing.

Review method: I've tested this product and I use it often day-to-day. I also took some information that J. David Eisenberg posted tothe list.
Notes: Our tests show that OpenOffice and KOffice have some problems opening each other's OpenDocument files.

OpenOffice.org pioneered the standarization effort that brought the OASIS OpenDocument format. The group donated its native file format under a free license to the OASIS group. OASIS then used this format as a starting point for the OpenDocument format.
