Jean Hollis Weber

Jean Hollis WeberJean is one of the founders of Friends of OpenDocument Inc and of the OpenDocument Fellowship.

Jean has over 30 years of experience planning, writing, editing, indexing, and testing user manuals and online help for computer software and hardware. Three years ago she switched from Microsoft Office to OpenOffice.org for all her work, and a year ago she moved from Microsoft Windows to Ubuntu Linux as her preferred operating system.

Jean has written several books, including OpenOffice.org Writer: The Free Alternative to Microsoft Word, which was created using OpenOffice.org and published by O’Reilly Community Press in July 2004.

Jean has been active in the OpenOffice.org community, particularly the OOoAuthors project, but these days most of her time is devoted to the OpenDocument Fellowship.

Jean also maintains several other websites, including one for technical editors and one about OpenOffice.org.
